Using Suzuki Motorcycle Covers

Known to riders of all kinds of bikes, Suzuki motorcycle covers are great to keep the rain and dirt off of your bike whether you are riding it in the next few days or putting it away for the winter months. The covers are not only durable but they are easy to put on and pull off which is essential. If you cannot get the cover on easily, it is very likely that you will just stop using it, leaving it wadded on the floor of the garage while an old bed sheet stands in overtop of the bike.

Because motorcycles come in such a wide range of sizes and styles, including those that have been modified or altered by the owner, it is important to choose a cover that will fit correctly. There are a number of different motorcycle brands and while there might be a subtle difference between one and another, perhaps as little as an inch or two, you can usually find a motorcycle cover to fit yours, even under another motorcycle company’s brand.

If you are not sure of which size you need, then it is best to speak to someone at the motorcycle shop or use the measurements of your bike to find the right ones. To get the right numbers, you measure the length of the bike, from the front wheel to the rear wheel plus the height of the bike from the ground up to its highest point. If you find that the cover fits too tightly you may have to take off accessories or risk that they will be bent or broken during storage.

If you only use the cover during the winter months, it is important to make sure that it is in good condition when you remove it and that you store it where it will not be damaged. Before it is needed once again, take it out and inspect it, making sure that you do not have to replace it. There are several things that can damage the covers such as dry rot, mildew or punctures. If there are holes or other issues, the cover is not protecting the bike from anything at all.

Of course, not everyone has a garage or a storage shed to keep their motorcycle in. for those people, the cover becomes even more important overall. But, if the cover is going to be used to protect the bike while outdoors, it is even more important to make sure that it securely ties down. There would be nothing worse than coming out after a heavy storm to find that your bike has been soaked and your Suzuki motorcycle cover has blown three streets over.
